The charming region of Epirus, which is located on the western side of Central Greece, is one of the most beautiful regions in all of the country. The Pindos Mountain range that dominates the landscape is one that is also home to many of Greece’s most endangered species, such as bears, wolves and griffon vultures. The stunning slopes of the Pindos Mountain meet the farmlands of Thessaly on the eastern side of Central Greece.

Epirus is a holiday destination that is perfect to visit all year round. The huge mountains, reaching heights of more than 2,600 meters are snowbound during the winter, whilst the summer months offer lovely weather, perfect for those lazy days at the beach.

The villages founding the Zagoria region of Epirus are some of the most prettiest and beautiful in the region, and offer a great sense of peace and tranquillity about them. Close by is the famous region of Meteora, which is home to the monasteries, situated on the huge rocks. Meteora is definitely worth a visit if you have the chance. There is a selection of beaches along the western coast, and one can even venture out and head to one of the several “Ionian Islands”.
