The island of Crete is the largest of all Greek Islands, measuring a total of 8,300km2 in size. It is the most southern island of Greece and is the last stop before reaching the northern coast of Africa. Crete is an island steeped deep in history, and has some of the most impressive ancient and archaeological sites to be found within Greece. Crete is the land of the Minotaur, the Labyrinth and Icarus.

The island has four main regions, being Hania on the western side, Rethymno and Iraklio in the centre, and Lassithi on the eastern side. Each region offers a unique and beautiful range of holidays, and travelling between these regions, one could be forgiven for thinking that they are not actually on the same island.

Crete is a hugely popular island with visitors from all over the world. There are some simply stunning beaches and coastlines that are perfect for the summer months, as well as nightlife and entertainment that is on par with that found anywhere else in Greece.
